Riversong Players is a grassroots, intergenerational theatre company grounded in creativity, spirit, and healing. We offer a safe and vibrant space for self-expression — through voice, movement, ritual, and collaboration. Founded by Beth Anne Robertson, a Drama Therapist, Holistic Psychotherapist and Multidisciplinary Healer, Riversong blends traditional theatre with self-attunement, deep empathy, transformation and joy.

Values:

  • Voice as medicine

  • Creativity as connection

Why the Damselfly

At Riversong Players, the damselfly is more than a beautiful image — it is our guiding symbol.

Like the damselfly, we all begin in one world and, through growth and transformation, find ourselves ready to take flight into another. The journey of the damselfly from water to air mirrors the creative process: quiet beginnings, patient growth, and the moment of emergence into something new and full of light.

Damselflies move with grace and purpose. They rest with their wings folded, reminding us of the power of stillness, reflection, and collaboration. They are often seen in pairs, symbolizing harmony, connection, and the joy of creating together.

For Riversong Players, the damselfly reflects the heart of what we do:

  • Transformation — nurturing growth in artists of all ages

  • Balance — blending artistry with wellness, expression and listening

  • Connection — bringing community together through shared stories

When you see the damselfly in our work, know it represents the belief that every person has the ability to transform — to rise from the depths, stretch their wings, and dance in the light.
